Absolutely the No 1 resort in the world winter and summer. It takes a lifetime to ski all the runs. In the summer it is so wonderfully warm and there are too many things to do here. It's non-stop with excellent events winter and summer. The restaurants are fabulous and for the budget travellers the unlimited supply of food from all over the world is available to purchase and cook. This place rocks and I've been to too many resorts to remember. This is #1 bar none!

I went to Whistler a couple years ago, and had the best skiing experience. I was twelve years old and not a very confident skier. The instructors at Whistler were amazing, I went from being a "level 2" skier to a "level 5" skier within three days.

Overall, Whistler has North America's best ski terrain. My other favorites would be Jackson, Snowmass and Lake Louise. Despite a relatively low top elevation, the snow on the top half of the mountains is much better than widely known. The low valley elevations definitely means sometimes the weather there can be an issue though. No other resort in North Amercia offers as much high alpine than do the twin giants of Whistler and Blackcomb. No other resort can beat the length of it's season that goes from mid November until early August on the Blackcomb Glacier. No other resort has the no cars/Whistler Village! No other resort has the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver as it's gateway. It can be busy, especially on weekends. It's pricey, but usually no more than the other major resorts it's competing against. The people you meet there are mostly very friendly and helpful. It's not an ideal family resort due to it's size and it's sometimes challenging weather conditions. It is a great option for North Americans looking for challenge and nightlife but may not want to travel to Europe in order to find it.

Whoa - this place is amazing. A truly alive resort town with a very strong local community, I liked it so much I moved here, from New Zealand!
The ski terrain in the winter is the best lift accessed terrain I have ever experienced. Good skiers and riders can access movie quality lines without ever removing their boards, and ride all the way back to the lift line to do it all again! And then there is summer......

Whistler during the summer almost doesn't skip a beat. The bik park opens before the skiing is done on the mountain, and it is certainly incredible to see mountainbikers and skiers accessing the mountain from the same lift.

Went to WB for the first time March 17-23 and had the best time ever. Having been all over Colortado and New Mexico WB replaces Vail/Taos as my number 1 spot. Outstanding terrain, first class facilities, and great staff made it a fabulous trip. Not to mention snow everyday! This resort is all it's cracked up top be, no hype here. Be sure to hit the Symphony Area, absolutely the best powder I've ever seen! Waist deep and still piling up. Incredible spot, go!

The Whistler Ski experience is the best! Incredibly huge resort - largest ski terrain in N. America and more runs than you can do in several days. As a true intermediate skier, it's great here because all levels can ski at the top of both mountains all the way to the bottom. Great customer service, loads of Aussies, Canadians and other nice folks (hot guys and girls too) Great apres too. . . but in a laid back, less attitude fashion then one would find at Aspen or Vail. Probably the only thing lacking here, in my opinion, is a true old, Alpin village setting. Whistler is relatively new (from the 1960's) so the village is nearly all brand new looking and lacks that vintage charm one finds at a Breckenridge or Park City. But this is minor. My favorite place to ski in the world!!

Week long family ski/snowboard vacation was fantastic. The skiing is world-class and it was very easy to hire a nanny to mind the baby.

By far the greatest mountain in North America (Utah #1 and Colorado #2). I have skied many times at Zermatt & Cervinia, and they do not hold a candle to Whistler either.

Whistler was absolutely fabulous! Only second time boarding, and I am a bit scared that Whistler will be a tough one to even come close to beating! Lift tickets were very VERY expensive - about 87.00 american/day. If you check online a few weeks prior to your arrival, you may get lucky and catch a 20-50% break on lift prices. Though they were a bit high for a college student, the money was VERY WELL worth it. TONS of slopes. Boarded for almost a week and always had a new run. Cat trails are a bit difficult here especially - long, and tedious - but I guess that's how they go. Two gondolas, one up to each mountain. Lifts galore. Powder guaranteed! Lodges and pubs are amazing. Look in to renting a cabin off Green Lake - beautiful. Shuttle services, so you won't need a car, just PLENTY of change or purchase a bus pass - a whole lot easier than scrounging for change at 7am before the slopes. Short days (8:30 - 3:00ish), but gets dark pretty early in the winter in BC, so ride hard and you won't be complaining at all. Will DEFINITELY go back without a doubt. Wanted to quit my job and just live and work there for the rest of the winter season. TONS OF aussies and foreigners. BLAST!
